Intelligence Matters conceived and produced a three-frame monochrome portrait suite for Leah McCarthy, produced with the permission of the artist.
Each plate places the subject inside a distinct studio apparatus: Victorian mourning lace and cut onyx, a wrecked white pickup truck and a timber booth wired to a CRT confession terminal.
01 · Three Apparatuses
Rather than locking the subject to a single room, the suite moves across three recurring Negative Space worlds while holding a single silver-gelatin tonal register.
In sequence: high-collared lace with a silver-mounted black cameo; a white mesh head-wrap and chain-slung keypad phone before a crumpled Silverado; a nun’s habit and wire spectacles beside Cyberchurch 3.0.
